I started digital photography
in August 2004 with a compact Sony DSC-T1 which I thought was marvellous until
I realised its limitations for flower photography. In January I purchased
the Panasonic DMC-FZ18 and have been pretty pleased with the results. I had
never had control over so many aspects of photography such as aperture, exposure,
shutter speed and so on so it was a steep learning curve. For me it is a very
versatile camera and copes with videos of grandchildren and landscapes very
adequately. I often use a gorilla pod when doing closeups of plants and everything
fits in a very easily portable bag or in my rucksack.
