I have always been very keen on wild flowers, but only started to take photographs of them in 2006 when I undertook a photographic Flora Survey of my home parish of Sapcote in Leicestershire on behalf of the local Heritage Group.

I set myself up with a Fuji FinePix F455 camera and a 256 MB card. It is a 5.2 million-pixel camera and is small, light and robust, which serves my purpose very well. On a two-hour walk I often take over a hundred pictures and select the ones that I wish to keep when I get home. I first discovered this web site whilst looking for pictures to help confirm my identifications and thank everyone that contributes pictures to it.
