Rubus canadensis L.

This species is native to North America and is naturalised at a small number of locations from Surrey to South Lancashire. Several stands occur at Duxbury Woods, Chorley where these images were taken.

The most outstanding feature on this bramble is the near absence of prickles on the furrowed stems and also of any pricklets in the panicles. Note also the long attenuate apex of the terminal leaflets.
